Quilting Delights Portland, Oregon

It was a delight to spend 2 days in Portland at Quilting Delights at my friend Thea's beautiful store. It was a 2 day event. We repeated the same sets, Accessory, Design Works, and Quilting, on each day. It was extra special and fun to have Christine Gist come to help out from Tucson. Quilting Delights took her right in and made her an instant friend. She is pretty likeable! Quilting Delights has a wonderful and fun staff and the cutest technician ever! They were a great help and so great with their customers. I am looking forward to returning to Quilting Delights in the fall.

In May I had the opportunity to fill in for a teacher at the Home Machine Quilter Show. The classes were sponsored by Nuttall's Sewing and Fabric Center. The projects included a modern quilt called "Fractured Circles" and an art quilt called "A piece of Art". Both pieces were designed by Nina McVeigh. The machines in the room for sewing were the BERNINA 780 and 750's. The machines performed beautifully and all of the students finished their projects. Both of these projects had new binding techniques that I had not tried before. They came out so great! Any time I can do a binding with no hand work, I am a fan! Many thanks to my friend Patti Ormsby for loaning me her beautiful Art Quilts. I have them pictured below.
Here are the students and their finished projects
